<p>Motivating people to change behavior that is harmful to their health can be difficult and tiresome. Changing the style of consultation could improve this experience for health and wellness professionals and create sustained behavior change for the client! This style is called Motivational Interviewing: a client-centered, directive counseling style for enhancing intrinsic motivation to change by exploring and resolving ambivalence. In this two day certification course, participants will gain motivation enhancing behavior change approaches, real-life demonstrations, videotape examples, “real-plays”, case studies, small group discussions, and participate in experiential and skills based exercises.</p>

Day 1:	Establishing a worksite wellness strategy</p>
<p>Day 2:	Best practices in worksite wellness programming</p>
<p>Day 3:	Written examination (2 hours) to qualify for the official certificate issued by University of Pretoria and endorsed by Wellness Africa (Pty ) Ltd.</p>

After completion of this course, candidates should be able to:<br />

<p>WHO SHOULD ENROL?<br />
All health and Wellness and EAP professionals responsible for the promotion of Employee Wellness in the Workplace. Professional training is a pre-requisite.</p>

Prospective delegates should at least have a 3-year Bachelors degree or equivalent. Should these requirements not be met, each individual case will be assessed on merit.</p>

The course will be presented by staff members of the Department of Social Work &amp; Criminology, University of Pretoria and Wellness Africa<br />
(Pty ) Ltd.</p>
<p>COURSE STRUCTURE<br />
The format will predominantly consist of lectures. The course will be presented in English.</p>
<p>ACCREDITATION<br />
This programme is provided by an accredited higher education provider. Should this programme be included in the organizational Skills Development Plan of companies/employers, normal SETA reimbursement regulations apply.</p>
<p>Attendees may apply for CPD points from the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) and other relevant statutory bodies, on successful completion of the course.</p>
<p>ASSESSMENT<br />
In order to qualify for an official certificate issued by the University of Pretoria and endorsed by Wellness Africa (Pty) Ltd., delegates need to successfully comply with requirements through a written examination (2 hours) on the last day of the course.</p>

The course fee is R 3500 per delegate and includes course material, meals and refreshments. Corporate discount of 10% for 5 or more delegates from the same organisation may be considered if the course is presented on the main campus of the University of Pretoria.</p>

The course provides delegates with advanced knowledge on Employee Wellness programmes. Delegates should have professional training and be tasked to promote wellness in the workplace.</p>
<p>PROGRAMME:<br />
(Programme may be adapted without prior notice)<br />
Day 1:	Establishing a worksite wellness strategy</p>
<p>Day 2:	Best practices in worksite wellness programming</p>
<p>Day 3:	Written examination (2 hours) to qualify for the official certificate issued by University of Pretoria and endorsed by Wellness Africa (Pty ) Ltd.</p>
<p>LEARNING OUTCOMES<br />
After completion of this course, candidates should be able to:<br />
•	Conduct a wellness survey<br />
•	Build a business case for wellness<br />
•	Gain management support<br />
•	Serve as a role model<br />
•	Integrate services and efforts<br />
•	Monitoring &amp; celebrating success</p>
<p>WHO SHOULD ENROL?<br />
All health and Wellness and EAP professionals responsible for the promotion of Employee Wellness in the Workplace. Professional training is a pre-requisite.</p>
<p>ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS<br />
Prospective delegates should at least have a 3-year Bachelors degree or equivalent. Should these requirements not be met, each individual case will be assessed on merit.</p>
<p>PRESENTERS<br />
The course will be presented by staff members of the Department of Social Work &amp; Criminology, University of Pretoria and Wellness Africa<br />
(Pty ) Ltd.</p>
<p>COURSE STRUCTURE<br />
The format will predominantly consist of lectures. The course will be presented in English.</p>
<p>ACCREDITATION<br />
This programme is provided by an accredited higher education provider. Should this programme be included in the organizational Skills Development Plan of companies/employers, normal SETA reimbursement regulations apply.</p>
<p>Attendees may apply for CPD points from the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP) and other relevant statutory bodies, on successful completion of the course.</p>
<p>ASSESSMENT<br />
In order to qualify for an official certificate issued by the University of Pretoria and endorsed by Wellness Africa (Pty) Ltd., delegates need to successfully comply with requirements through a written examination (2 hours) on the last day of the course.</p>
<p>COURSE FEE (CE at UP IS EXEMPT FROM VAT)<br />
The course fee is R 3500 per delegate and includes course material, meals and refreshments. Corporate discount of 10% for 5 or more delegates from the same organisation may be considered if the course is presented on the main campus of the University of Pretoria.</p>
<p>ACCOMMODATION<br />
Any travel and/or accommodation arrangements are the responsibility of the delegates and or their employers.<br />
Course may be presented at other venues as well.</p>
